A deep sea fishing trip in Mexico inspired Dean Prestby to create this metal sculpture of a sailfish. He formed scraps of 14 gauge mild steel on an anvil to create the correct shapes, then Mig-welded them together with ESAB MIG-6 .035 solid wire. ESAB MIG-6 is an ER70S-6 MIG wire suited for welding over heavier amounts of dirt, rust or mill scale.

“I live in Turtle River, Minnesota, population 76,” Dean says “I started welding in school at the age of 16. My father was a High School art teacher, which inspired me to create sculptures.” Dean has been using ESAB products for 29 years.
